Based on this, fuel cells can be divided into alkaline fuel cells, which generally use potassium hydroxide as the electrolyte; phosphoric acid fuel cells, which use concentrated phosphoric acid as the electrolyte; proton exchange membrane fuel cells, which use concentrated phosphoric acid as the electrolyte.
